Summary

Markdown Magic does not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Your documents

Your documents stay on your Mac, or wherever you choose to save them, such as iCloud Drive. Markdown Magic does not upload them anywhere.

Images from the web

If a document contains an image with a web address, Markdown Magic downloads that image to display it. As with any web request, the server hosting the image receives your IP address. No other data is sent. Diagrams and formulas are rendered on your Mac without any network access.

App Store

Markdown Magic is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect data about downloads and purchases according to its own privacy policy. We only receive anonymous, aggregated statistics from Apple.

This website

Our hosting provider logs technical data when you visit this website, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of access, to operate the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are deleted after a short period. The site uses a single cookie named "lang" that remembers your language choice for one year; it contains nothing else. We do not use analytics or third-party content.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict and object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we do not collect personal data through the app, there is usually nothing to request; if you email us, we use your message only to answer it.
